The entrepreneurship career pathway is offered in most of the DeKalb CTAE high schools and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship is the official program of study for DeKalb CTAE. NFTE provides us with the curriculum, teacher training, ongoing professional learning, corporate partnerships, and Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge competitions.
The NFTE School of Entrepreneurship provide a replicable comprehensive entrepreneurship experience that develops student led innovation by creating the mindset, industry credentials, employability skills, and aptitude to address and analyze real world issues and create products in the spirit of an entrepreneur. Students’ academic experiences revolve around entrepreneurship principles and the entrepreneurial mindset.
The program develops partnerships and externships with business, community, and political leaders to ensure students have a 360-learning experience applying entrepreneurial principles to academic practice. The year culminates with a Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge where students create a business concept, create a business plan pitch, and present it to our corporate partners. The winner advances and competes at the National Youth Challenge in New York City.
